Hope’s Song.
by Francis Carlin, 1881-?.
Silent is the dark
Before the sun-beams come,
Yet if it were not for the lark,
The dawn would be as dumb,
And thus my soul would be
As dark and still as night,
If ‘twere not for the minstrelsy
Of Hope that sings of Light.
